Post Marks

Post Marks is the culmination of an intensive drawing project developed over the course of a year (2003) between artists Arabella Lee and Melanie Rose. Consisting of more than 700 drawings. These drawings were posted daily between the two artists, and form a fascinating, developing artistic dialogue. Folded and posted, the drawings bear the marks of their journeys with the addresses, stamps, and frank marks an integral part of the finished work. The newspaper quality newsprint references their daily news exchange and allows the displayed work to flutter on the wall when viewers pass by.
